The Marquess of Ailesbury tragically passed away after falling from his bedroom window while trying to let his cat out.

The 98-year-old is believed to have died instantly upon hitting his head on the hard concrete patio below at his London residence.

In 2011, Florence and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, shared a brief romantic connection, lasting two months.

By July 2013, Florence married Henry St. George, a wealthy entrepreneur.

Teresa Marshall de Paoli, the 88-year-old partner of the Marquess, made the grim discovery on Sunday evening while preparing dinner. She was left in shock and distress.

She believes he had been lying there for at least an hour.

After calling emergency services, the police quickly confirmed that he had passed away.

Initially, the police treated the scene as a "crime scene," though Teresa was not detained. She had been in a relationship with the Marquess for 36 years and was deeply shaken by the incident.

In a tender moment, Teresa was later able to say her final goodbyes, even spritzing his body with his favorite cologne.

When they first saw the Marquess lying outside, Teresa recalled, “They thought I might have been the one to hurt him. It really was a freak accident.”

“There was no argument, and I didn’t strike him.”

“I think the cat, Honeybun, got her head stuck, and when he tried to lift the window, he lost his balance and fell onto the patio.”

“As he dropped, he struck the roses growing along the wall.”

“Doctors told me that the blow to his head from the concrete impact would have been fatal.”

“It’s possible he had been lying there for an hour or more. He was pale and cold.”

“I placed a pillow under his head,” she continued. “I called 999 and informed them that my partner had been in an accident.”

Emergency responders arrived in just seven minutes. A police officer later confirmed that he had passed away immediately.

After the tragedy, Teresa called his daughter, Lady Kathryn Brudenell Bruce, who rushed to the scene.

“I couldn’t even go to the bathroom alone; Lady Kathryn and I spent the whole night in an armchair in the drawing room. There was no other place for us.”

“Police were there overnight and into the next day,” she said.

“Three hours later, a forensic team of six investigators dressed in full white suits arrived.”

“More investigators continued to arrive, and at one point, there were 21 people on the scene.”

Since leaving his home in Savernake Forest 14 years ago, the Marquess and Teresa had lived in this London residence.

“He had become very frail,” Teresa shared. “He had Alzheimer’s.”

She then recounted how she used his favorite cologne on him one last time, “It’s a mystery how I managed it, but it was important to me.”

“It was so painful. I had been caring for him for so long. My heart ached. What happened, my darling?” But by then, he was already gone.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said, “The London Ambulance Service contacted us at 8:05 PM on Sunday, May 12, after a man in his 90s was found deceased at an address on Abdale Road, W12.”

“Police and ambulance crews responded to the scene.”

“His family and friends have been informed.”

“While the death is unexpected, it is not being treated as suspicious.”
